Officially set up in 1988, the archive includes approximately 1,500 plates of the period of Fiume (September 1919 – January 1921) and a further 2,000 photographs regarding d’Annunzio and his life, his women, as well as the construction of the Vittoriale. The archives also include approximately 200 negatives.
The film library includes 37 original reels of celluloid and acetate tape – transferred onto VHS and DVD – containing images filmed at the Vittoriale while d’Annunzio lived there. The film material has subsequently been enhanced by the addition of television film recordings about d’Annunzio and his residence produced from 1963 onwards.
The photographic archive of the Vittoriale is now available directly online.
