Pond of the Dances

A supreme tribute to beauty, to the magnificence of nature, the gardens of the Priory are simply the continuation of that constant and painstaking, spectacular and artistic staging that is the Vittoriale.
After being awarded “Most Beautiful Park in Italy”in 2012, in spring 2013, after decades of abandon and substantial restoration and support work to remedy the hydrogeological instability of the area, the Pond of the Dances was re-opened to the public: a small water pond created artificially by d’Annunzioand Maroni in the shape of a violin as a tribute to Gasparo da Salò, fed by the streams Crazy Waterand Wise Water, it was designed to host performances of music and dance.
A place which the Vittoriale, in the year of the 150th anniversary celebrations of the birth of Gabriele d’Annunzio, wished to give back to the visiting public: “I have that which I have donated”.
