Schifamondo è per me il luogo di una vita nova [lettera a Gian Carlo Maroni]

The Vittoriale Auditorium is a unique space of unparalleled historical and artistic value.

Located in the most recently built wing of the monumental complex, it consists of a spacious hall that houses, suspended from the ceiling, the S.V.A. biplane used in the flight over Vienna, from which Gabriele d’Annunzio launched his famous leaflets over the capital of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. This relic, which marks a fundamental chapter in Italian history, makes the location one of the most significant points of interest in the entire Vittoriale. Originally designed for private film screenings, the space is now used to host conferences and events.

A photographic exhibition is set up along the walls of the hall, illustrating the stages of Gabriele d’Annunzio’s life through a series of images.

Along the upper floor’s loggia, visitors can explore the exhibition Homage to d’Annunzio, featuring works of art by contemporary artists inspired by the Poet and the Vittoriale, including valuable sketches by Giorgio De Chirico.

In the area in front of the Auditorium, several rooms—particularly well-suited for small receptions and coffee breaks—host a permanent exhibition dedicated to the construction of the House Museum. During the spring and summer months, the outdoor space of the loggia can also be used: a setting of incomparable charm, directly overlooking the Piazzetta of the Poet’s House and offering a magnificent view of the entire Lake Garda.
